Last December 4, 2011, Oyo Boy posted on his twitter "Ang dami talagang mukang pera... ang daming lumalandi! Nakakalungkot (hindi sa akin) Haay nako...." followed by the many time he had written “ respeto lang”. Thus came a rumor that Oyo is against “Vic – Pauleen courtship”. There had also been an issue that Vic is sending gifts to the young actress.
Pauleen immediately denied of the gift-giving allegations because it was only during her birthday when she got a gift from the comedian/tv host.
Pauleen would have chosen to keep quiet if only she was not dragged of being materialistic that really affected her. She answered an interview on Startalk. And a tweet from Oyo boy, “Kung nasaktan ka, ikaw yun”, came after.
Pauleen then decided to deactivate her BBM ( Black berry message) and stopped twitting to avoid mis-interpretations and reading of further negative tweets.
But even Pauleen’s mother had already been hurt with the rumors that led her to come up with these statements: "There is no better time for our thoughts, as parents, on the Vic-Pauleen issue, be heard but now, for we wish our daughter nothing more but a peaceful and fulfilled 2012.
"We're proud to have brought up Pauleen as a God-fearing child, and have full trust and confidence [in] whatever decision she makes.
"We have raised her and her brother as well-provided individuals encouraged to live their lives to the fullest.
"Since her start in this industry, she has but one goal—that is to enjoy what she loves the most—acting and hosting. What she earns from this profession comes secondary to her passion.
"That is why it pains her and us as well to hear that she is using someone else for financial gains. Just so everything is clear, Pauleen is not the breadwinner of the family".
